Carla is a doctorate student at the University of Sao Paulo pursuing a degree in Social Anthropology. With a background in museum studies, her main research expertise is in and about museums in the context of Black people history and public representations of Afro-Brazilian culture in Brazilian museums. Carlas MA thesis on Museu Afro-Brasil, one of the largest Brazilian public museums on African and Afro-diasporic populations has discussed Afro-Brazilian Art as a proposed conceptual category and the signature character of Emanoel Araujos curatorial work. She received her masters degree in social anthropology in 2018 from the Federal University of Santa Catarina where she later acted as a substitute professor, responsible for teaching undergraduate courses from 2019-2020 at the museum studies department (museology).Her ongoing research approaches the production of history by African and Afrodiasporic tourists in Dakar. Carla currently holds a Fellowship at Harvard University, enabled by the Institutional Program for Internationalization sponsored by CAPES. She also takes part in the research group intitled CANIBAL: Grupo de Antropologia do Caribe Global (Global Caribbean Anthropology Group), at the University of Sao Paulo, Social Anthropology Department. She is participating in the collective project "Cronotopos Canibais no Sul Global: A coprodução de histórias, lugares e identificações" (Cannibal Chronotopes in the Global South: The coproduction of histories, places and identifications) coordinated by Dr. João Felipe Gonçalves (http://www.antropocanibal.com.br/). #8195; (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
