The goal of this project is to scale the process of production of cellulose nanofibers, to a Pilot-Plant scale. For that, alternative methods, whith greater potential for large scale application than the well-stablished process, will be tested and optimize. The starting material will be sugarcane bagasse.
The goal of this project is to use hydrogel beads produced via calcium crosslinking of TEMPO-oxidized cellulose nanofibers to develop sustainable and large-scale commercially viable systems to remove metallic ions out of water trough adsorption, both in batch and column forms.
