Instituto Butantan  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

Biomedical Scientist graduated from the Universidade Metodista de São Paulo (UMESP), Master in Pharmacology, Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the Instituto Butantan, and Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Biophysics, Escola Paulista de Medicina (EPM-UNIFESP), with a focus on metabolomics and proteomics applied to oncology. Completed a period as a Visiting Researcher at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium, where he conducted electrophysiological studies focusing on the evaluation of antitumor compounds. Currently, he is a Scientific Researcher at the Biochemistry Laboratory and an Advisor in the Graduate Program in Toxinology at the Instituto Butantan, where he also coordinates the course "Neurotoxins as Pharmacological Tools." His research focuses on the mechanisms of action of new molecules in the central nervous system, with an emphasis on proteomic changes associated with neurodegenerative disorders, using neuroproteomics to elucidate protein complexes related to neuronal and synaptic plasticity. He is also dedicated to the discovery of bioactive molecules from animal venoms and secretions for oncology, emphasizing the purification, biochemical characterization through mass spectrometry, and pharmacological evaluation of compounds with potential applications as antitumor agents. He has expertise in techniques such as mass spectrometry, liquid chromatography, and analyses in peptidomics, proteomics, and applied metabolomics. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
