Jessica de Souza Rodrigues

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Sorocaba (2016), and a Master's (2019) and Ph.D. (2023) in Materials Science from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar). During my Ph.D., I completed a research internship at Aalto University in Finland (Sep/2021 Apr/2022). Currently, I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Science and Technology, São Paulo State University (UNESP), where I am affiliated with the FAPESP Research Center for Biodiversity and Climate Change (CEPID-FAPESP). My research focuses on the development of nanotechnology-based systems for agroindustrial and environmental sustainability applications, particularly polymeric nanoparticles derived from lignin for the controlled release of agrochemicals and biopesticides. I also work on the formulation and evaluation of agrochemical products, including herbicides and fungicides, performing efficacy tests and field trials. I have extensive experience in advanced materials and nanoparticle characterization techniques, including Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis (NTA), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC), Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), and Raman Spectroscopy. I am dedicated to finding innovative and sustainable solutions for agriculture, combining my academic background with solid practical experience to advance research and develop new technologies.
