Lucas Martins Lino Aguiar dos Santos

Lucas Martins Lino is a Geologist who graduated from the Institute of Geosciences of the University of São Paulo (2015), with a Master's degree (2018) and a PhD in Sciences (2023) from the Mineralogy and Petrology Program (IGc-USP). He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at USP, investigating the magmatic and thermodynamic mechanisms that influence the formation of bimodal volcanic suites, focusing on processes such as crystallization (equilibrium and fractional) and magma immiscibility. In parallel, he develops studies on the volcanic-plutonic connection and the formation of caldera-type volcanoes. His main areas of interest include igneous petrology and geochemistry, emphasizing quantitative methods for textural and structural analysis of igneous rocks, geochemical, numerical, and thermodynamic modeling, and in situ mineral analysis techniques. His work seeks to understand the petrogenesis, formation, and evolution of intrusive igneous bodies and associated volcanic processes and the origin and evolution of bimodal suites.
