Carolina de Almeida Caetano

I hold a bachelor's degree in Biology from UFSCar, with a master's and a Ph.D. in Sciences the master's degree obtained through the Ecology program at USP and the Ph.D. through the Ecology and Natural Resources program at UFSCar. I am also a specialist in Data Science and Analytics from USP Esalq. I have extensive experience in interdisciplinary projects, ranging from the acquisition and analysis of two- and three-dimensional images, genome assembly and annotation, to the ecological and evolutionary analysis of morphological patterns and species interactions.After completing my Ph.D., I was awarded a level 5 technical training fellowship to work as a bioinformatician and data scientist on the project Validation of a machine learning tool as a prospecting instrument for new drugs, funded by FAPESP (2023/08570-2). I also worked as a data analyst on the research projects Genomics of OCD in Latin American Communities (1 K99 MH128540-01A1, NIH/NIMH) and Trans-ancestry genomic analysis of obsessive compulsive disorder (U01MH125062-01A1, NIH/NIMH), both funded by the National Institute of Mental Health.Currently, I work in a partnership between NIC.br and GIGA/UNICEF, on a project funded by the British Embassy.
