Abstract
Extreme brachycephalic breeds are more likely to develop brachycephalic airway obstructive syndrome. The chronic condition of airway obstruction results in mucosal edema, soft tissue thickening and degeneration of the laryngeal cartilages leading to laryngeal collapse.
