Esther Angélica Luiz Ferreira

Graduated in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of Botucatu (FMB) at São Paulo State University (UNESP), with Medical Residency in Pediatrics and Pediatric Rheumatology also completed at FMB - UNESP. She holds the Title of Specialist in Pediatrics (TEP) awarded by the Brazilian Medical Association (AMB) and the Brazilian Society of Pediatrics (SBP), and a PhD from the Graduate Program in Anesthesiology at FMB - UNESP. She completed two postdoctoral fellowships in Spain: the first, from 2023 to 2024, in Pediatric Pain, funded by Coimbra Group, at the University of Salamanca (USAL); the second, from 2024 to 2025, in Pediatric Pain and Technologies, funded by CNPq Brazil, at the University of Castilla-La Mancha.At the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), she is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine (DMed), coordinator of the Postgraduate Specialization in Palliative Care, advisor to the Academic League of Pain Therapy and Palliative Care (LATACP), and leader of the CNPq Research Group "Nucleus for Studies in Pain and Palliative Care". She is also a faculty member of the Master's program in Palliative Care at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Nursing, Catholic University of Portugal, in Lisbon.She served on the 2019/2020 Board of the Brazilian National Academy of Palliative Care (ANCP), is a member of the Scientific Committee on Palliative Care and Pain of the São Paulo Society of Pediatrics (SPSP), and a full member of the Department of Pain Medicine and Palliative Care of the Brazilian Society of Pediatrics (SBP). She is one of the founders of the Lusophone Group on Pediatric Palliative Care and also a founder and current board member of the Brazilian Network of Pediatric Palliative Care (RBCPPed).
