Jonathan Henrique Semmler is a professor of Portuguese at the elementary and high school levels in Brazil. The primary focus of his oeuvre is on technology literacy, critical thinking, and reading skills. Jonathan possesses a baccalaureate in Portuguese Language as well as a specialization in Literature and Arts. Since 2015, he has been employed in the educational sector, working at Koelle Primary, Elementary, and High School since 2019 and at Campinas City Hall's Office of Education. He is currently employed at a public school in the Campinas education system. In 2023, he was recognized by Apple Education Teacher Center as an Apple Distinguished Educator. This distinction was awarded in recognition of the projects he has developed in the field of technology applied in education. In 2024, he engaged in an interdisciplinary initiative with multiple educators from the Education Faculty of UNICAMP (Universidade Estadual do Campinas), fostering a collaborative and comprehensive approach to education. The individual's academic interests encompass a broad spectrum of subjects, including technology in education, problem-based learning (PBL), life stories, literature, discourse analysis, critical thinking, and reading skills.
