Vinícius Bonatto

Has a bachelor's degree in Chemistry (2016) from the Federal University of Itajubá (UNIFEI), a master's degree in Computational Chemistry from UNIFEI (2019). Holds a Ph.D. in Sciences in the area of Organic and Biological Chemistry from the University of São Paulo (USP). Worked as a visiting researcher at the University of Barcelona (UB), Spain, with a scholarship granted by the European Union's HPC-Europe 3 program. Currently is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Physics of São Carlos (IFSC/USP), working on Medicinal Chemistry through computational simulations and chemoinformatics methods to find new antimalarials with different mechanisms of action. Interested in free energy perturbation methods for obtaining ligand binding affinity, utilizing classical and quantum mechanics methodologies to assist in the design of new inhibitors and the development of software and workflows for the creation and selection of new compounds. Additionally, is an enthusiastic about entrepreneurship and related areas.
