Vivaldo Moura Neto

graduate at História Natural from Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (1970), master's at Biochemistry from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (1977) and with Doctorat Ès Sciences Doctorat D'etat from Université Pierre et Marie Curie (1984). Full Professor of the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), retired last June 2014 and actually is Professor Emeritus of the UFRJ. Currently is Head of Research of the Instituto Estadual do Cérebro Paulo Niemeyer from the Secretaria de Estado de Saúde do Estado do Rio de Janeiro. Doctor Honoris Causa of the Universidade Federal do Ceará and Universidade Federeal da Bahia. Received the Distinction of Grã-Cruz da Ordem Nacional do Méritoc Científico of the Brazilian Gouvernment in 2018. Has experience in Morphology, focusing on Embryology, acting on the following subjects: astrocytes, astrocyte, thyroid hormone, extracellular matrix and neuron-glia interactions.
