Kaio de Souza Gomes

PhD in Science and Technology - Chemistry at the Federal University of ABC (2023), in a sandwich period at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaing with a Fulbright scholarship, MSc in Science and Technology - Chemistry (2019) at the Federal University of ABC, BSc in Chemistry (2017) from the Federal University of São Paulo. Has experience in Natural Product Chemistry with species from the Asteraceae, Lauraceae and Piperaceae families in the search for compounds with antiparasitic and cytotoxic action and use of multivariate statistics in QSAR studies of compounds with antitrypanosomal action, total synthesis of natural products with cytotoxic activity using tools dearomatization and use of three-dimensional cell cultures in the search for bioactive natural compounds. He also has experience in Biochemistry, evaluating biochemical patterns in two- and three-dimensional cell culture models of endometriosis under oxidative stress and the antioxidant action of natural products. He is currently a visiting postdoctoral researcher at the Imaging Platform of the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, where he works with bioimage analysis for High-Content Screening (HCS) in in vitro models of endometriosis, under the supervision of Dr. Beth Cimini.
