Javier Sierra Gómez

Doctor and Master in Space Engineering and Technology/Science and Technology of Materials and Sensors (CMS) at the National Institute for Space Research (INPE). Degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the Pedagogical and Technological University of Colombia (2015). He is currently studying the deposition of monocrystalline films of CVD diamond (Single Crystal Diamond SCD), #8203;self-sustained, of high purity (type IIa), via the high power MWPACVD technique (6kW) for optical applications such as high power light windows and/or or broad spectrum transmission (X-IV-Rays), as well as gemstones with high purity due to the density of color centers and/or other defects. Has experience in characterization techniques in natural diamond, CVD diamond and HPHT diamond such as Optical Microscopy with Polarized Light, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FE-SEM), Photoluminescence Spectroscopy (PL) , Raman Spectroscopy, x ray Diffraction (Brentano-Bragg Geometry) and High-Resolution x ray Diffraction (Rocking Curve).
