Birthplace: Brazil

Solid background in Agronomy and Weed Science, with emphasis on crop production and herbicide-resistance management. Former position: Weed Science coordinator at "Instituto Phytus" (Phytus Institute), at which I carry out a range of research projects hired mostly by Ag companies, both in the field and greenhouse, aimed at evaluating weed control efficacy by herbicides for product registration in Brazil. There is also a major extension and teaching component to my position, such as training company personnel, farmers, stake-holders and product sellers regarding proper use of different weed management techniques. I am also involved in preparing course material for new "AgriSchool" courses, as well as giving talks for different customers such as Ag companies and sellers, besides active participation in events related to Weed Science in general. I received the "Best Oral Presentation" award at the "XXX Brazilian Weed Science Congress" held in Curitiba in August 2016. Academic background: Ph.D. and M.Sc. degrees in Horticulture and Agronomy from the University of California at Davis, and a post-doc at UFPel. I am also a Weed Specialist certified by the same institution. Bachelor degree in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Sao Paulo (ESALQ/USP). (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
