Holds a Biology and Industrial Microbiology degree from the Pontifical University Javeriana, Colombia. Master's degree in Microbiology from the University of São Paulo, and is currently a PhD candidate in Microbiology at the University of São Paulo. Her research focuses on genomic surveillance of antibiotic-resistant bacteria at the Human-Environment-Animal interface (One Health) and research into therapeutic alternatives using metabolites from bacteria isolated from amphibians and non-impacted environments. She is part of the OneBR team (http://www.onehealthbr.com/), the first integrated genomics database for the surveillance, diagnosis, and management of antimicrobial resistance in Latin America.
