CV Lattes ORCID

Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP). Centro de Biologia Molecular e Engenharia Genética (CBMEG)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

Graduated in Biological Sciences (Bachelor's and Licentiate's degrees), Master in Molecular Biology and PhD in Molecular Pathology from the University of Brasília (UnB). She has worked in plant virology research studying virus resistance genes in plants, as well as gene silencing and movement suppression proteins in Tospoviruses. She participated in the Science Without Borders program at the University of Leicester (UoL), England (2014-2015), studying Microbiology, where she worked with directed evolution (determination of mutations in mitotic markers involved in human cancer). During her master's degree, she worked with human virology, isolating and sequencing Chikungunya isolates and proteomic analysis of Aedes aegypti cell cultures infected with Mayaro (family Togaviridae, genus Alphavirus). During her doctorate, she performed proteomic analysis with the same cells infected with Chikungunya and phosphoproteomic analysis (mass spectrometry) of Aedes aegypti cell cultures infected with both alphaviruses, with the aim of studying the role of phosphorylation in the establishment of viral infection and cellular defense. She is currently doing a postdoctoral fellowship at the State University of Campinas (Unicamp), in the A2G (Advanced Second Generation Biofuels Laboratory). She works on two lines of research involving: 1) proteomic analysis of the extremophilic cellulosic bacterium Clostridium thermocellum fermenting soluble substrates, with the aim of better understanding the biochemical cycle of ethanol production to optimize it, and 2) evaluation of the solubilization of Brazilian lignocellulosic substrates subjected to fermentation in co-culture by Clostridium thermocellum and Thermoanaerobacterium thermosaccharolyticum using CBP (consolidated bioprocessing).
