Undergraduate student in Biological Sciences at São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP FCAV, Jaboticabal). Currently holds a FAPESP research scholarship in the field of biochemistry and molecular biology, with a project focused on the modulation of the EGF signaling pathway by the alternative oxidase. This is her second FAPESP-funded project; the first was developed under the Comunicar Ciência Science Journalism call, in partnership with the Roberto Marinho Foundation, with the project entitled The contemporary relevance of the model organism Drosophila melanogaster for biomedical sciences.She has been an intern at the Mitochondrial Biology Laboratory since the beginning of her involvement with science journalism. Has experience in science communication and co-authored a poster presented at the 54th Annual Meeting of the Brazilian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (SBBq), entitled To fly or not to fly: economic advantages of using Drosophila melanogaster as the animal model for biomedical studies.Her main academic interests include biochemistry, molecular biology, mitochondrial biology, and science communication, aiming to integrate academic knowledge with public engagement in science.
