Thiago Piacentini holds a bachelor degree in Geology (Universidade de São Paulo - 2007), a masters degree in Sciences (Universidade de São Paulo - 2009) and a PhD in Earth Sciences (University of Queensland, Australia, 2014). Former CNPq scholar studied noble gas geochemistry and geochronology of banded iron-formations under the supervision of Paulo M. Vasconcelos (UQ) and Kenneth Farley (Caltech), focusing on the 40Ar/39Ar, U-Th/He and U-Th/Ne dating methods.
