bachelor's at Engenharia Química from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (1986), master's at Chemical Engineering from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (1988) and doctorate at Chemical Engineering from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (1992). Currently is full professor at COPPE - Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. Has experience in Chemical Engineering, focusing on Industrial Processes and Chemical Engineering, acting on the following subjects: process modeling and simulation, dynamic optimization, differential-algebraic equations, nonlinear process control.
