An agronomist by training, Daniel Garcia holds a master's degree and doctorate in horticulture at UNESP (Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Botucatu). Multidisciplinary professional, his area of concentration is horticulture, with an emphasis on organic cultivation systems, with agroecological bases. He specialized in medicinal, aromatic and spicy plants, and visited rooftop gardens in the United States of America (exchange at New Jersey University, plant biology department). Later, he specialized in essential oils in China (exchange at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, department of agriculture). He dedicated to urban gardens and therapeutic gardens during his 3-year postdoctoral studies in China (Shanghai Jiao Tong University, department of agriculture). He has scientific works published in high-impact international journals. He participates in socio-environmental projects and volunteer work. Manager of Aromatizando Jardins (www.aromatizandojardins.com.br), he is dedicated to mentoring urban gardens projects (school gardens, corporate gardens, urban farms in condominiums), developing socio-environmental projects, planning therapeutic gardens and training people about management and connection of gardens with people's daily lives.
