Adipose tissue, composed of specialized cells known as adipocytes, is classified into white (WAT), brown (BAT), and beige (BeAT) adipose tissue. These tissues differ morphologically: WAT is formed by unilocular adipocytes, whereas BAT and BeAT contain multilocular adipocytes rich in mitochondria.
