Birthplace: Brazil

Natasha graduated in Biological Sciences from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (2011), performing undergrad work (2008-2011) at the Immunology and Microbiology Laboratory under the orientation by Prof. Dr. Carlos Alexandre Sanchez Ferreira working with cloning, expression and characterization of proteins. Completed her master's degree from the Postgraduate Program in Cellular and Molecular Biology at PUCRS under the orientation by Prof. Dr. Leandro Vieira Astarita (2014) in which she developed the dissertation work entitled "Cellular processes involved in the defense responses of Solanum tuberosum L. against phytopathogens" (2012-2014) and also participated in projects involving the evaluation of the action of microorganisms such as modulators of metabolism related to plant growth and defense. She was selected by the Brazilian Science without Borders program (CAPES) to pursue a Full Doctorate at Louisiana State University (Baton Rouge, LA - USA). During the doctorate (2016 - 2022), under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Gregg S. Pettis, developed projects involving phytopathogenic species of Streptomyces aiming to better understand their genomes, focusing on genes involved in disease induction and the relationship with host plants. Also during her PhD, she worked as a Teaching Assistant (TA) at Louisiana State University (2018 - 2022) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ginger Brininstool, where her main role was to organize/conduct microbiology laboratory classes (undergraduate level), including planning/correcting assessment activities such as tests and writing projects/articles. She worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the PUCRS Plant Biotechnology Laboratory under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Leandro Vieira Astarita. Has experience in the areas of Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Phytopathology and Bioinformatics. Currently, works as a postdoctoral fellow at the Functional Metagenomics Laboratory under the supervision of Prof. Dr. María Eugenia Guazzaroni. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
