Rodolfo is an associate professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina. He received a Dr.Eng degree and an M.Eng. degree in Systems and Automation Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina in 2012 and 2008, respectively, and a B.E. degree in Control and Automation Engineering from the same university in 2006 (with honors for the greatest grade point average). He also received a B.Sc. degree in Business Administration from the Santa Catarina State University in 2007 (again with honors for the greatest grade point average). His research interests include process control (time delay processes and model predictive control), instrumentation, metrology, and measurement automation. He coordinates and participates in international cooperation projects, and also in industry-academia partnership projects. He is currently the coordinator of the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels Human Resource Program in Control, Automation, and Instrumentation (PRH 2.1), the sub-coordinator of the Brazilian National Science and Technology Institute for Control and Automation of Energy Processes (INCT-CAPE), and a Research Productivity Fellow of CNPq. He was a member of the CAPES Evaluation Committee for the Engineering IV area in the 2017-2020 quadrennium, a member of the CNPq International Evaluation Committee in 2023 and 2024, and is the current president of the PRH Representatives Committee with ANP.
