Luiz Carlos Lobato dos Santos

Graduated in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (1999), he holds a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering (2002) from the same university and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from The University of Manchester, United Kingdom (2007). He conducted research in the field of natural gas storage at the Centre for Gas Technologies and Renewable Energies (CTGAS-ER) and served as a professor and director of the Higher Education Course in Oil and Gas Technology at Potiguar University (2008-2009). At the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) since 2009, he held the positions of Vice-Coordinator (2012-2014) and Coordinator (2014-2016) of the undergraduate program in Mining Engineering. Additionally, he was Vice-Coordinator of the Academic Masters Program in Chemical Engineering MAEQ (2016-2017) and Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Chemical Engineering PPEQ (2017-2020). Currently holds a permanent position within the Postgraduate Program in Chemical Engineering (PPEQ) and the Postgraduate Program in Geochemistry: Petroleum and Environment (POSPETRO). Since 2020, he has been the coordinator of the Human Resources Program in Petroleum and Environment (PEMA/UFBA) of the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas, and Biofuels (ANP) PRH/ANP 36.1. Furthermore, he is the coordinator of the Petroleum, Natural Gas, and Biofuels Laboratory (PGBio) at the Federal University of Bahia, accredited by the ANP under n 1017/2021, where he develops research on the use of surfactants/microemulsions; enhanced oil recovery; breaking of oil emulsions; recovery of degraded areas; produced water treatment; biofuel production; and computational simulations involving petroleum, natural gas, and biofuels.
