Birthplace: Peru

I am a bioinformatician with experience building, optimizing, and maintaining genomic, metagenomic, and transcriptomic pipelines applied to the study of evolution, epidemiology, and clinical diagnosis of infectious diseases. I hold a bachelor's degree in Genetics and Biotechnology from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (Peru, 2012), and a master's degree (2019) and a PhD (2022) in Bioinformatics from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (Brazil). In 2023, I worked as a bioinformatician at Varsomics and at the Clinical Laboratory of Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, focusing on NGS-based precision medicine. Subsequently, I worked as a bioinformatician at the Laboratory of Medical Research in Protozoology, Bacteriology, and Antimicrobial Resistance at the University of São Paulo School of Medicine. I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Laboratory of Molecular Parasitology at the University of São Paulo School of Medicine. My areas of interest include microbiology, genetics, microbiome, metagenomics, transcriptomics, phylogeny, infectious diseases, non-coding RNAs, GWAS, antimicrobial resistance, proteomics, machine learning, and host-pathogen interaction.
