Birthplace: Brazil

Holds a Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences from the São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2012), a Master's degree in Science (Genetics) from the University of São Paulo (USP) and a Ph.D. in Science (Genetics) from the University of São Paulo Paulo (USP) with an internship period at the University of California at San Diego (UCSD) (10/2019-03/2020). Currently, he is a postdoctoral fellow at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP). Has experience in Genetics, with emphasis on Molecular Plant Genetics, working mainly on the following topics: 1) characterization of unknown genes involved in gene expression regulation at transcriptional and post-transcriptional levels during reproductive organ development; 2) functional characterization of small regulatory RNAs and their biogenesis; 3) establishment and improvement of gene editing techniques; 4) Installation and analysis of herbicide tolerance traits in monocot species. Has solid knowledge in protein-protein interaction analysis (Y2H, BiFC, Co-IP and Pulldown), gene expression analysis, heterologous expression and purification of recombinant proteins, genetic transformation (Sugarcane, Nicotiana tabacum, Nicotiana benthamiana and Arabidopsis Thaliana), gene editing by CRISPR/Cas9 (traditional knockout, homologous recombination, base editing and Prime editing), cloning techniques (Gateway, Gibdom Assembly and Golden Gate) and vector/plasmid design.
