Carlos Fabiano Capato

Graduated in Biological Sciences from the State University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UEMS) (2013). He holds a Master's degree in Environmental Science from the Faculty of Exact Sciences and Technology of the Federal University of Grande Dourados (FACET-UFGD) (2014-2016). He has a PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the Ribeirão Preto Medical School of the University of São Paulo (FMRP-USP) (2019-2024). During his undergraduate studies, he received a scholarship from the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) to carry out physical-chemical analyses at the Soil, Plant and Correctives Laboratory (2010-2012) and developed a Scientific Initiation project at the same university. During his master's degree, he gained experience in analytical chemistry, biochemistry of microorganisms and fluorescence spectroscopy. After completing her master's degree, she taught Biology and Natural Sciences at the Mato Grosso do Sul state school system for secondary and elementary schools (2016-2018).At the same time, he worked as a Tutor Teacher at the Federal University of Grande Dourados/Open University of Brazil, in undergraduate courses at the UFGD Distance Education Faculty (2016-2017). At the same institution, he worked as a Teacher Trainer as part of the Multidisciplinary Team supporting undergraduate and postgraduate courses (2017-2018). During his PhD, he worked on the infection of epithelial and lymphoid cell lines by human Enteroviruses, and concomitantly collaborated with studies on Sars-Cov-2, the virus that caused the COVID-19 pandemic. He is currently starting his Post-Doctorate at the University of São Paulo (USP) in the field of Biochemistry and Structural Biology, studying mitochondrial proteins in cancer cells (2024-current).
