PhD (2021), MSc (2013), and BSc (2010) in Geography from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), with a doctoral placement at the University of Bologna (Italy). He is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Geography and Environmental Planning at São Paulo State University (UNESP), Rio Claro, and a member of the academic staff on the postgraduate programme in Geography at the same institution. His work is focused on Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). He coordinates the Geotechnologies and Cartography Research Laboratory (GEOCARTO) and is a member of the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS) and the Latin American Society of Remote Sensing Specialists (SELPER). He leads the research project Land Use and Land Cover Mapping Using Deep Learning and CBERS-4A Imagery and the outreach project Development of Digital Content on Applied Geotechnologies. His previous academic experience includes GIS, remote sensing, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), landscape ecology, and geodesign. He is particularly interested in the use of geoinformation for environmental assessment and spatial planning. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
