Lilian Vieira Magalhaes

Dr Magalhaes holds a degree in Occupational Therapy from the School of Rehabilitation of Rio de Janeiro (1976), a Masters in Education from the State University of Campinas (1989) and a PhD in Collective Health from the State University of Campinas (1998). Her postdoctoral fellowship was developed at the Institute for Work and Health, Toronto, Canada in 2002.She has experience in the area of #8203;#8203;Occupational Therapy and Occupational Science, as well as qualitative research. She was an associate professor at the University of Western Ontario, Canada where her research activities focused mainly on the relationship between immigration and the occupational dimension of health and work conditions, as well as the formulation of appropriate research methodologies for minorities and other vulnerable populations.She is currently an adjunct professor at the Department of Occupational Therapy at the Federal University of Sao Carlos, Brazil, and has a status of Professor Emeritus at the Western University of Ontario.
