Birthplace: Brazil

Bachelor of Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Alfenas (UNIFAL-MG) (2003-2006), Master of Science (CAPES 7) from the University of São Paulo, USP (2007-2009). PhD in Microbiology from the Aquaculture Institute of the University of Santiago de Compostela-Spain (2014-2018), title recognized by UFMG in the CAPES 7 program. In his doctorate, he studied virulence mechanisms of fish pathogens. Post Doctorate at the São Paulo State University (UNESP), Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology/Bacterial Genetics Laboratory (2019-2021). Post Doctorate at UNIFAL-MG in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology/ Vaccine Laboratory. Post Doctorate / FAPESP from USP at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Laboratory of Functional Genomics and Development of Antimalarials. He was guest professor at Facica-MG in the theoretical/practical discipline of Immunology/Microbiology (2013) and substitute professor at UNIFAL-MG (2013-2014) teaching the theoretical/practical disciplines of Microbiology and Microbiological Quality Control. He was an Investigator of the antigen prospecting project for the production of a vaccine against fish photobacteriosis (Institute of Research and Innovation in Health-I3S, Portugal-2019). He has experience in phagotherapy and mechanisms of gene regulation, characterization of microbial virulence factors, mutagenesis, study of microbiological diversity, molecular biology, genomics, cell culture and proteomics. He is currently coordinating a research project financed by FAPESPA/CNPQ (process 20221437972) which aims to isolate and characterize Amazonian bacteriophages with potential in phagotherapy applied in clinical practice and aquaculture. Of the scientific articles published so far, 7 (qualis A1) are related to the field of aquaculture and were cited 363 times. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
