Maria Laura de Oliveira Costa is a student of the Biomedical Sciences course at the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo (USP). She is currently a FAPESP-funded scientific initiation scholar, working on a project in the field of virology with a focus on the intracellular trafficking of proteins during Oropouche virus infections at the Protein Intracellular Trafficking and Virus-Cell Interaction Laboratory at the Virology Research Center of FMRP/USP. As part of her extracurricular activities, she was a scholarship holder of the Unified Scholarship Program at the University of São Paulo, participating in a teaching project, assisting in classes, and acquiring and handling equipment at the Multidisciplinary Laboratory of the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto. She also served as a monitor for the Bioinformatics module of the course RCB104 - Fundamentals of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics for the Analysis of Biological Phenomena; participated in organizing the VIII Symposium of Biomedical Sciences at FMRP-USP; was the Administrative Coordinator of the Moura Gonçalves Academic Center and currently holds the position of External Relations Coordinator. She is also a student representative on the Undergraduate Committee of FMRP and an alternate student representative on the FMRP Congregation. Maria Laura is deeply committed to the university environment and has been an active leader in promoting academic and scientific events at her institution. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
