She is currently an associate professor Senior at the Faculty of Education of the University of São Paulo. She holds a BA in Journalism from Faculdade Cásper Líbero (1983), a degree in Psychology from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (1995). She received a master's degree in Physical Education from the University in São Paulo (1998) and a PhD in Education from the University of São Paulo (2001). She was founding president of the Brazilian Association of Sport Psychology and editor of the Brazilian Journal of Sport Psychology. She currently coordinates the Olympic Studies Group (GEO-USP) and is the editor of Olimpianos - Journal of Olympic Studies. Her studies and research are focused on the sports imaginary, the memory of Brazilian sport, the biographical narratives of Olympic athletes and the Social Psychology of Sport. She is a researcher at the Institute for Advanced Studies at USP and a member of the Brazilian Olympic Academy. She has 42 published books, 14 of them as an author and 28 as an organizer in the area of #8203;#8203;Sport Psychology and Olympic Studies. She is a research productivity fellow at level 2.
