Matheus Amaral Santos

The student is currently enrolled in the Undergraduate programme in Philosophy at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar). He is currently a holder of a FAPESP scientific initiation scholarship and successfully completed a PIBIC-CNPQ research project in 2024. His research focuses on existentialism, contemporary French philosophy, Afro-diasporic philosophy, the philosophy of language, Frantz Fanon, race, racism and racialisation. He has taught Africanities at UFSCar's Popular Pre-Vestibular Course (where, in 2024, he and the Africanities team were awarded the Carolina Maria de Jesus Seal by the São Carlos City Council), and Philosophy at the José Rosa Neto Popular Action Circle (CAP-Quintino II) between 2021-2022. In 2023, he was also involved in the project 'Do Sarau à parte à arte participativa: intervenção, produção de conhecimento e transformação social'. He is an actor from the São Carlos branch of the SENAC. In the city of Ribeirão Preto, between the years 2018 and 2021, he was responsible for the organisation of Batalha do Ponto 157, which, in 2021, was performed at SESC Ribeirão Preto. In 2020, he was the winner of the Slam da Cana in Ribeirão Preto. He is currently an actor in the play 'O Último Brinde' by Cia Quinta Cena. He is also the co-founder and coordinator of the UFSCRIAS group. He has been a tutor in the Philosophy Department of the CECH (Centre for Education and Human Sciences) at UFSCar. 1.
