Luiz Gustavo Bonatto Rufino

Bachelors degree (2010) and Licentiate degree (2013) in Physical Education from the São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP), Rio Claro campus, and in Pedagogy (2020). Specialist in Higher Education Teaching (2013). Masters degree in the Interdisciplinary Program in Human Development and Technologies, concentration area Technology in Body Dynamics (2012). PhD (2018) in Motor Sciences from UNESP Rio Claro, concentration area Pedagogy of Human Motricity and research line Professional Education, Labor Field, and Physical Education Teaching, with research stays at the Université de Montréal (UdeM), Canada, and at the Centre de recherche interuniversitaire sur la formation et la profession enseignante (CRIFPE) through the PDSE-CAPES program. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Education and Humanities (DEFH) at the Faculty of Physical Education (FEF), University of Campinas (Unicamp). He has professional experience in teaching at all educational levels, in both initial and continuing teacher education, in producing books and other educational materials, in providing pedagogical and educational consulting and advisory services, in delivering courses and training programs, in sports and physical activity management, in social projects and public policies, and in the field of combat sports, martial arts, and fighting systems. He has served as a member of the Evaluation Panel of the National System for the Evaluation of Higher Education (BASis) of INEP, and acts as a reviewer and consultant for various national and international journals. Google Certified Educator. In 2019, he was awarded the Prêmio Educador Nota 10 (Victor Civita Foundation, Globo, Editora Abril, and Fundação Roberto Marinho). In 2022, the Association Internationale des Écoles Supérieures d'Éducation Physique International Association for Physical Education in Higher Education (AIESEP) granted him the Developing Country Scholar Award in recognition of his academic work and participation in the AIESEP World Congress 2022. He coordinates the Study and Research Group on Teacher Education in Physical Education (GEPFEF) and the Training and Research Group on Combat Sports, Martial Arts, and Fighting Systems (FORPLAMEC), both linked to FEFUnicamp and certified by CNPq. His research and professional practice focus mainly on: teaching and learning processes and teacher education in combat sports, martial arts, and fighting systems; school Physical Education; pedagogical practice; epistemology; Physical Education and its interfaces with the social and human sciences; professional education and the labor field; teacher professionalization; professionalism in Physical Education; sociology of professions; teaching knowledge; sport pedagogy; educational sport; and the culture of bodily movement in its multiple manifestations.
