Graduated in Civil Engineering at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1981), M.Sc. in Civil Engineering at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1986) and D.Sc. in Civil Engineering at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1991). Currently is Associate Professor at the Graduate Center of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Civil Engineering Department. Has experience in Civil Engineering, focusing on Structural Engineering, acting on the following subjects: computational solid mechanics, nonlinear finite elements analysis, discrete elements, contact-impact problems and high-performance computing.
