Andrea Brito Latge

Graduated in the Department of Physics from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1980), master's degree in Physics from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1984) and Ph.D. in Physics from the Fluminense Federal University (1989). She was a member of the Board of the Brazilian Society of Physics and is a Full Professor at the Fluminense Federal University. She was Dean of Research, Graduate Studies and Innovation at Fluminense Federal University between 2019 and 2022, Research Coordinator at UFF, Graduate Coordinator at UFF, Coordinator of Academic Affairs at the Superintendence of International Relations at UFF. She was Adjunct Coordinator of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) in the area of Physics and Astronomy for 8 years. She has experience in Physics, with emphasis on Electronic Properties of Condensed Matter, working mainly on the following topics: carbon nanomaterials, graphene, graphene nanoribbons, electronic transport, spintronics and valleytronics. She has scientific collaborations with researchers at Universidad Tecnica de Santa Maria in Chile, Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland, Ohio University in the USA, Universidad Complutense de Madrid in Spain and Galgary University in Canada. She has around 150 scientific works published in high-impact international journals, has already supervised several master's and doctoral students and has supervised researchers in post-doctoral internships. She is mother of two daughters, Carolina and Sofia, was a member founder of the UFF Women in Science working group and currently participates in the UFF Permanent Commission for Gender Equity.
