Ana Luiza Girardi de Araujo

I hold a technical degree in Agriculture from the Federal Institute of São Paulo (IFSP Barretos Campus), where I worked as a laboratory assistant at Micellium Laboratory and Bio Products Trading. I am currently an undergraduate student in Biological Sciences at São Paulo State University (UNESP FCAV), Jaboticabal. In 2022, I was awarded a PROGRAD scholarship and participated in the university extension project Faça arte, faça parte (Make art, be part), coordinated by Prof. Dr. Sheila Garcia, through which I organized cultural activities such as a field trip to São Paulo, RPG workshops, and a university talent show. I interned for four months at the Environmental and Analytical Chemistry Laboratory (LQAA) and the Laboratory of Biochemistry of Microorganisms and Plants (LBMP), with focus on bioremediation processes in applied microbiology.In the second semester of 2022, I was selected through a competitive process by UNESPs Office for International Affairs (AREX) to take part in an academic exchange at the University of Granada (UGR), Spain, where I studied Plant Physiology I, Human Genetics, and Microbiology I, with financial support from AREX/PROGRAD/COPE.From 2023 to 2024, I volunteered as a General and Organic Chemistry instructor at the Ativo Preparatory Course in Jaboticabal and served as a paid teaching assistant for General Chemistry (for Agronomy and Biology students) and Organic Chemistry (for Biology students) at UNESP/FCAV. I also participated in the university choir. In 2024, I was selected to attend the international graduate-level course Aquatic Biology: Biodiversity in Coastal Ecosystems, organized in collaboration with students from UNESP and Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU).I currently hold a FAPESP undergraduate research scholarship, developing the project Adsorption of hexavalent chromium by dry biomass of Methylorubrum rhodesianum JABV-01 at LQAA, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Luciana Maria Saran. I presented preliminary results at the 36th UNESP Scientific Initiation Congress (CIC), earning a score of 9.79, ranking 4th among 34 projects in Biological Sciences and 12th among 195 undergraduate projects at FCAV, which qualified me for the second phase of the event. In 2025, I joined the organizing committee of the II Summer School in Agricultural Microbiology (EVMA) and co-hosted the workshop The role of microorganisms in bioremediation processes, under Prof. Dr. Luciana Maria Sarans coordination.
