Luciano Romero Soares de Lima

Graduated in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Paraíba Campina Grande (1984), with a Masters degree in Computer Science from the same institution (1988), and a PhD in Computer Science from the Federal University of Minas Gerais Belo Horizonte (2000). I worked as an Information Analyst and Health Informatics Researcher at the Sarah Network of Rehabilitation Hospitals, based at the Sarah Hospital in Belo Horizonte from April 1995 to October 2024.I have experience in the areas of Computer Science and Health Informatics, with an emphasis on Data, Administration, Data Architecture and Science, Software Engineering, and Systems Development. My main areas of work include: Hospital Information Systems; Textual, Relational, and Object-Oriented Databases; Information Retrieval in Specialised and Unstructured Databases and Digital Libraries; Automatic Document Classification; Health Informatics (Electronic Health Records and Health Service Systems); and Business Intelligence.Throughout my career, I have participated as: a secondary and higher education lecturer; a member of editorial boards for scientific journals and conference committees in the fields of Health Informatics and Computer Science; a manager and developer of information systems and databases; a manager of processes and people in IT; a business analyst in Health Informatics; a supervisor for Masters and PhD students in Computing; a member of examination panels for postgraduate degrees in Computer Science; a member of the Advisory Committee of the University Telemedicine Network (RUTE); a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Health Informatics (JHI) of SBIS; and a member of the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC) and the Brazilian Society of Health Informatics (SBIS).
