Rozely Menezes Vigas Oliveira

Graduated in History from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (2007), Master in Social History from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (2012) and Ph.D. in History from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (2019). She was adjunct professor of Modern and Colonial American History at School of Teacher Education in Rio de Janeiro State University. She was a postdoctoral collaborator researcher at UNICAMP and received the Prix international d'encouragement aux études postdoctorales, offered by the Fonds de Dotation de l'EHESS, with the European Institute of Cultural Sciences P. Manuel Antunes, the International Society of Jesuit Studies (SIEJ) and the CIDH-Universidade Aberta /Doctorate of Global Studies. She had also a doctoral scholarship from FAPERJ and a scholarship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. Member of thematic project "Direitos de propriedades e ocupação territorial: as sesmarias do Rio de Janeiro entre os séculos XVI e XIX", coordinated by Prof. Dr. Marina Machado (UERJ).Member of the organizing committee of Visões da Ásia Researchers Network. Member of the organizing committee for the restructuring of the Asociación Latinoamericana de Estudios de Asia y África Brazil (ALADAA-Brasil). Member of the Núcleo de Estudos Inquisitoriais (NEI) study group. She has experience in Paleography and History areas, with an emphasis on Modern History, working mainly on the following subjects: religious orders, Order of the Hermits of Saint Augustine, female convents, Goa (India), St. Monica Convent in Goa, Portuguese Empire and manuscripts sources (16th-19th centuries).
