B.S in Astronomy from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (2002), M.Sc. in Astronomy from Observatório Nacional (2003) and Ph.D. in Planetary Sciences from University of Arizona (2008). Post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, Northern Arizona University, since 2013. Undergraduate and Master's research in asteroid fragmentation models. Since the Ph.D., working on Titan observations and computational astronomy: analysis of Cassini VIMS and ground-based observations of Titan's atmosphere and surface (characterization of spatial and temporal occurences of spectral structures and measurements of the methane and haze distributions); development and implementation of radiative transfer algorithms for planetary atmospheres; development of sotware for data acquisition and processing of astronomical surveys; development of general software for computational sciences, particularly in IDL; processing, databases and visualization of astronomical observations; colormaps for image generation; high performance computing (parallelization by vectorization, GPUs, multicore and clusters); management of computer clusters for scientific computing, mining of Solar System observations, detection and characterization of small Solar System bodies. One of the main world experts in the IDL programming language, and diverse experience in Fortran, C, C++, CUDA, OpenMP, MPI, SQL, Python, Java, R, Perl.
