Raisa Ferreira Costa

Graduated in Biological Sciences with a Bachelor's degree from the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE). Has carried out research as a volunteer student in the area of Plant Genetics and Biotechnology through the Institutional Scientific Initiation Scholarship Programme (PIBIC/UFPE/CNPq) and as a scholarship student in the area of Cytogenetics (PIBIC/UFPE/CNPq). Holds a Master's degree in Neuroscience and Biotechnology from the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE/FAPESP) and a PhD in Oncology from the Antônio Prudente Foundation, at the A.C. Camargo Cancer Centre Hospital (CAPES). Visiting researcher funded by the PhD-sandwich programme abroad (PDSE/CAPES) at the Laboratoire de Biochimie physiopathologique et nutritionnelle (LBNP), Faculty of Medicine in Bruxelles, Belgium (2024) under the supervision of Prof. Dr Christine Delporte. Carrying out research into the morphological, molecular and physiological aspects of head and neck neoplasms, evaluating the development and tumourigenesis of the salivary glands, as well as laboratory activities involving molecular pathology in the Pathology Department of the International Research Centre of the A.C. Camargo Cancer Center Hospital (CIPE-A.C.CAMARGO CANCER CENTER). Has solid theoretical and practical training in Pathological Anatomy, Surgical Instrumentation and various laboratory methodologies, such as immunochemistry, DNA and RNA extraction, PCR, NGS and 2D and 3D cell cultures, in vitro immuno- and chemotherapeutic drug testing and animal handling.
