Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Instituto Oceanográfico (IO)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

I have a bachelor's degree in Oceanography (2015), a master's degree in Meteorology (2018), and a PhD in Physical Oceanography (2024). During my PhD, I was a Fulbright Scholar at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in the United States of America. I am currently a post-doctoral fellow at the Oceanographic Institute of the University of São Paulo. My research topic is the effect of mixing on the abyssal cell of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC). Additionally, I analyse the variability and long-term trends of the heat balance components and the AMOC in the Tropical and South Atlantic using large ensembles for different climate scenarios. Furthermore, I investigate the interaction between the Intertropical Convergence Zone and the surface circulation in the tropical Atlantic by examining the heat balance in the mixed layer.
