José Laurindo dos Santos Júnior

Direct PhD student in Biological Sciences (Botany) at the University of São Paulo (USP). Graduate in Biological Sciences (full degree) at the Federal University of Sergipe (UFS) (2022). He was a Scientific Initiation Scholar (IC) at the Laboratory of Plant Physiology and Ecophysiology (LFEV) of the same institution by COPES (UFS) for four consecutive years. Has experience in Botany, with emphasis on Plant Physiology: abiotic stresses, especially water deficit, accumulation of osmotically active organic solutes, growth analysis of plants subjected to environmental stresses, seed conditioning with different conditioning agents. He carried out research with plants from the Brazilian semi-arid region (Caatinga). He worked evaluating water memory in the seeds of two representatives of the Annonaceae family, Annona squamosa L. (Sugar Apple) and Annona muricata L. (Soursop). He evaluated the effects of high temperature on germination and development of plants in the Brazilian semiarid region. Worked with phytosociological work for marking, collecting, identifying and conserving botanical material in remnants of the Atlantic Forest in Sergipe. In addition, he served as Monitor of the Elements of Human Anatomy course at the Federal University of Sergipe and is a member of the Molecular Anatomy Group (GAM) at the same institution. In addition, he did a non-compulsory teaching internship in the Science curricular component in classes of the final years of basic education in a municipal school in Socorro / SE, as well as a resident of the Pedagogical Residency program.
