Graduated in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Ouro Preto (UFOP), with the monograph title "Meristic variation in two species of snakes of the family Dipsadidae, genus Erythrolamprus: E. maryellenae (Dixon, 1985) and E. jaegeri (Gunther, 1858 ).Could it be a case of hybridity?" with guidance from Professor Maria Rita Silvério Pires. During his entire degree, he attended the Vertebrate Zoology Laboratory as a Scientific Initiation student focusing on the taxonomy and biogeography of snakes of the genus Erythrolamprus from the Iron Quadrangle, monitor of the Vertebrate Zoology discipline and a scholarship holder for the "Zoology Tent" extension project.
