Birthplace: Brazil

Graduated in Biological Sciences from São Paulo State University "Júlio de Mesquita Filho" (UNESP/FCAV - Jaboticabal), with a Master's and Doctorate in Agricultural Microbiology from the same institution, with a research period at the Instituto de Tecnologia Química e Biológica António Xavier (ITQB - Portugal). Has experience in the areas of Agricultural Microbiology and Bioinformatics applied to the study of diverse microbiomes, primarily focusing on the application of "omics" approaches (metataxonomics, metagenomics, and metatranscriptomics) and computational tools for taxonomic and functional characterization of microbial communities. In his master's degree, investigated the effect of the cultivation system on the sugarcane microbiota using next-generation sequencing. In his doctorate, researched the temporal dynamics of microbiomes and gene expression in microbial consortia for lignocellulosic biomass degradation. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
