Erika Ponce holds a Bachelor's degree (2017) in Physics from the Universidad Nacional del Callao (UNAC, Peru), and a Master's (2020) and Ph.D. (2025) in Theoretical and Experimental Physics from the Institute of Physics of São Carlos, University of São Paulo (IFSC-USP). She conducted her master's and doctoral research within the Biophotonics Group at IFSC-USP, with part of her doctoral research carried out at the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Texas AM University (TAMU, USA). She is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Biophotonics Group at IFSC-USP. Her work focuses on the fields of sonodynamic and photodynamic therapies, particularly for the treatment of cutaneous cancerous lesions.
