Currently a postdoctoral researcher at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich, Germany, developing research on the plasmonic effects in nanocatalysts and investigating their impact on the efficiency of oxygen evolution reactions (OER) during the water splitting process. She holds a PhD in Chemistry from the Institute of Chemistry at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul, InQui-UFMS (2023), and a Master's degree from the Federal University of Grande Dourados, UFGD (2019). During her Master's, she worked with 3D-printed devices for glycerol electrooxidation, coupled with the study of byproducts generated from this alcohol, using Pd-based nanocatalysts with preferentially oriented surfaces. In her PhD, she specialized in 3D-printed microfluidic devices. The study resulted in 3D-printed devices capable of generating energy while mitigating pollutants. During her doctoral research, she also supervised internships on 3D-printed microfluidic devices for students from partner research groups, leading to a publication in an international journal. During her undergraduate studies in Chemistry at UFGD, she worked on various projects related to chemistry education. She was a scholarship holder in the Extension Project "Center for Training" at UFGD - Pre-University Course axis, as a teaching assistant in the course "Physical Chemistry I," and in the Institutional Program for Teaching Initiation Scholarships (PIBID). Dr. Katia-Emiko Guima studies methodologies for developing autonomy in the learning process of students from the perspective of a scientific career. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
