Kaya Lazarini

She has a PhD in Architecture and Urbanism from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of São Paulo (FAUUSP), in Habitat, with research on collective land ownership in Brazil and Mexico, and a sandwich period at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), at the Institute of Social Research (IIS/UNAM/2023). She has a master's degree from FAUUSP (2014) in Habitat, with research on the social production of habitat in Argentina, with a period of ethnographic research in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with the Movimiento de Ocupantes e Inquilinos (MOI-CTA/2013). She has a degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP/2009) and a specialisation in Solidarity Economy and Social Technology in Latin America (UNICAMP/2012). She was a Substitute Professor of Design and Representation on the Architecture and Urbanism course at the Federal University of Goiás (UFG) between 2021 and 2022. She was a researcher at LabCidade at FAU/USP in 2022. She is a member of the Latin American Network of Researchers on Urban Theory (Relateur) and the Ibero-American Research Network on Public Policies, Conflicts and Urban Movements (RIIPPCMU). Since 2010 she has been a member of USINA - Centro de Trabalhos para o Ambiente Habitado, a non-profit organisation that provides technical advice to social movements in the area of popular housing and urban reform. She is a researcher in fields related to the production of Social Housing, Urban and Territorial Planning, Public Policies, Popular Movements, Self-Management and Gender, articulating the Brazilian reality with the Latin American perspective.
