He graduated in Mechanical Engineering (1985) and got the degrees of M.Sc in Metallurgical Engineering (1988) and Dr.-Ing. in Mechanical Engineering (1993). He is Professor at the Department of Chemical and Materials / PUC-Rio and CEFET-RJ; he has activities as independent consultant for insurance companies also. He has experience in teaching, research, development and consulting in the area of #8203;#8203;materials performance and integrity. Since 2019, he is leader of a fatigue research group which makes use of ultrasonic technology, pioneering in Latin America, for long-term cyclic tests. His current research is focused on very high cycle fatigue and additive manufacturing of metallic materials, with emphasis on super long fatigue life of materials processed by additive manufacturing.
