Birthplace: Brazil

Bachelors degree in Biomedical Sciences from the Federal University of Alfenas (UNIFAL-MG, 2016), Masters degree in Biotechnology from São Paulo State University (UNESP, Araraquara, 2019), and Ph.D. in Sciences from the University of São Paulo (USP). I have experience in microbiology, with an emphasis on filamentous fungi, a research field in which I have been engaged since my undergraduate studies. My work includes the isolation of soil fungi, extraction of metabolites with antimicrobial activity, and fungal co-cultivation. During my masters program, I focused on enzymatic production by cultivating fungi under different conditions (liquid and solid media, and biofilm), emphasizing the production of L-asparaginase using agro-industrial residues. In my doctoral research, I worked with bioinformatics and proteomics, analyzing Fusarium oxysporum cultures exposed to antifungal agents to identify proteins involved in antifungal resistance mechanisms. Currently, I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Computational Chemical Biology Laboratory (CCBL), where I conduct genome mining of biosynthetic gene clusters (BGCs) for antimicrobial secondary metabolites from marine actinobacteria and explore gene knock-in using the CRISPR-Cas9 system.
